Dear Jamie and Ellen,

Thank you so much for Erin's third great summer at Encore/Coda! She had a wonderful time again this year, enjoying all the music and non-music activities, and she has further advanced on both her instruments. She had a terrific cabin and made many new friends. Parents' Visiting Day was, as always, a lot of fun. She can't wait to go back.
We know it's early, but we have to plan our vacation time for next year already! Could you please e-mail us the dates for next year's sessions, including the dates for Parents' Day?
Again, thanks for giving our daughter more great times and more great memories.

Hello Jamie and Ellen,

We've been overwhelmed by the transition back to school and your feedback request got stuck in the bottom of a very tall stack of paperwork! But I didn't want to let another minute go by to let you know how thoroughly Sebastian loved his experience at Camp Encore/Coda. It was a transformative experience for him in every way. He returned home happier, more confident, and more joyful than we've seen him and he's already eagerly anticipating a return to Sweden, Maine next summer. I think his own words sum it up best: "I've met more friends like me in three and a half weeks than I'd done in my whole lifetime before coming to camp." He also really enjoyed the outdoor activities, especially the swimming and boating, the musical theatre, the chamber music, the field trips, even the food. And, more than anything, he enjoyed so much the chance to meet other musicians and especially to see older kids (and counselors) who have made a commitment to music. They were great role models for him. Honestly, I can't think of a single negative comment or even a suggestion for the future...Many, many thanks for this terrific experience and count him in for next year...

Dear Jamie,

Sorry I'm so late in getting around to responding to your survey...Steve tends to be an easy going, reserved kind of kid and when it comes to sharing information...
When I arrived at Camp to pick him up...a friend from our home town who noticed me before I noticed him or located Steve - greeted me with a beautiful and energetic update on a few highlights of Steve's activities at Camp (including the standing ovation he received for his marimba piece on Wednesday night). It took Steve a day or two to tell me very quietly and matter-of-factly about that evening, which had to have been a peak experience for him.
In summary, I believe Steve had a fabulous time at Encore/Coda. He spoke highly of all the conductors and teachers, including his private teacher (Mr. Paine?) who had to leave before the open house. I know he loved orchestra, playing the full Dvorak symphony, and band, playing the John Williams Olympic Theme along with the other band pieces. I believe he improved significantly on marimba through private instruction - he began using four mallets - something he is continuing to work on with his teacher here in Rhode Island. He also got in a lot of practice on his drum set. He made many new friends at Camp (one of whom we have already visited on Cape Cod) and continues to email them regularly. One friend has had a profound influence on him—he introduced him to Mahler —and Steve has become a big fan—we're even going to NYC for a Mahler concert in March! One of MY favorite things about Encore/Coda, in addition to all of the wonderful musical activities, is the setting and the fact that for three and a half weeks the kids are without TV and computer. It's a rare and wonderful experience for children who live in the suburbs and spend a lot of time watching either a TV or computer screen.
Thanks again for all the work involved in making it happen.

Hi Ellen,

I arrived back in London on Saturday morning after 4 wonderful weeks of traveling...it is weird to now be at home and preparing to go back to university.
Let me repeat my thanks to you and Jamie for giving me the opportunity to have the most fantastic time of my life this summer - it exceeded even my wildest dreams and was the most fulfilling and exciting experience I could have hoped for, so thank you for that! I could go on and on thanking you, but I think you guessed how much I enjoyed my time at Encore/Coda!! I am still feeling amazingly positive about returning next summer, and hope to receive an invitation soon...
Anyway, just wanted to drop you an email to say thanks again, to let you know we got back OK, and to wish you a happy fall and rest of 2004...say hi to Jamie and Hannah and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Jamie,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU (...again) for the great moments I had in your camp. And also my mum now can't get over my accent. She says that she just wanted me to improve my English, and now I'm back, speaking (almost) like a real American girl, with the accent, the slang and all that stuff! I even miss the morning wake up. No, joking. Anyway, I had a really good time in the "Encore/Coda-land" and one of the best b-days you can have too. Can't wait to have the CD with the photos!

Dear Jamie,

If I had one wish, then it would be that Camp never ended. Another year is over and school is looming ahead as always. *shiver* I just wanted to thank you again from the bottom of my heart for another fantastic summer at Camp Encore/Coda! This is my second year attending Camp and my experience was just as awesome as my first. It was great to see all of my friends from last year and staff members as well! If I knew all of my teachers' e-mails I would send them all thank you letters but luckily for them and their online mailboxes I don't. Thank you for another incredible year!

Dear Jamie and Ellen,

I'd like to thank you both for another wonderful summer. This year was absolutely wonderful! I enjoyed every moment of it and really am looking forward to returning. I think the most wonderful part of camp is being able to make music with people who enjoy making music so much. I don't think I've ever met a person at camp, staff or camper, who hasn't genuinely enjoyed playing music and helping others at camp learn.
This was my 4th year at camp and each year has gotten better and better. Thank you for helping me have amazing summers at such a beautiful place.

Hi Jamie,

First, thank you for another wonderful parents' visiting day. The music was wonderful, the breadth of accomplishments of the staff and the campers was impressive, and the day was lovely. Your efforts on the parents' behalf are very much appreciated, down to the smallest details. Lily is having her "best summer yet." She adores her counselors and is happy with her bunkmates. She is proud of her improvements on her instrument, and feels invigorated to keep up practicing with renewed discipline...
I hope the last week has been going smoothly, and thanks again.

Dear Jamie,

Wendy, Rachel, and I just returned from our Camp Encore/Coda Parents Performance Day visit in Sweden, ME and as a "thank you" for your support we want to share a few pictures from the day.
The camp is far beyond our expectations. The owners, the staff and counselors..., the setting, the cabins the organization, and even the food was wonderful. Aaron loves it and has made many friends from the States and abroad. In just two weeks time together the students thrilled everyone with outstanding musical and vocal performances. Aaron is already planning to return next summer. Thank you once again for your support. And enjoy the rest of your summer.

Dear Jamie & Ellen,

Our son is a changed person since attending Camp Encore/Coda. This is the first camp experience he has really enjoyed - in spite of all the work! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving our son this wonderful opportunity. His love for the Tuba has blossomed and he made more friends at Encore than ever. We all look forward to seeing you again next summer.
Here's a handmade gift for you, made by my husband Joe, to express our gratitude.
