Our visiting policy is "open door," so camper families may visit at any time, not just on the designated Parents’ Days but these two "official" days are the best time to hear all the campers perform in their many ensembles.
Parent visiting days take place on the final Saturday of each session and feature performances and workshops by all of our performing ensembles including theater groups. 2013 visiting days are Saturday July 20 (1st session) and Saturday, August 10 (2nd session). At any given time, several ensembles are likely to be performing in different locations, and many campers participate in several ensembles. We coordinate the overall schedule of the day carefully so that campers can get in all of their performances without conflicts.
A typical Parents’ Day schedule is as follows:
9:30 am Coffee and donuts reception at the main office
10:00 am Concerts and workshops begin
11:30 am Buffet picnic lunch begins at the dining hall, continues until 2 PM
Concerts and workshops continue through the day
2:00 pm Lower Camp Theater performance in the concert hall
4:30 pm Upper Camp Theater performance in the concert hall
Campers may leave camp for dinner in town with parents when ready
9:00 pm All campers are requested to be back in camp.
On visiting days, as at all other times, campers may leave camp with a friend’s family only when the driver is over age 21, and only with the parents' written permission. To grant permission, parents must specifically name the individual or family being given permission and acknowledge that the camp is not responsible for the camper while in the care of the named individual or family. We are not able to release any child on visiting day, or at any other time, without such a note. Faxes are acceptable.
