Our infirmary is staffed 24 hours a day by professional nurses who look after the day-to-day health care of our campers and staff members. These nurses are licensed by the state of Maine and follow the standing orders of our camp doctors at Lakeside Family Practice in North Bridgton, Maine, about 10 minutes from camp. Lakeside Family Practice is affiliated with the Bridgton Hospital, newly reconstructed in 2001.

Our nurses dispense all daily medications & vitamins that campers or staff members may need (per Maine state law), and provide all other aspects of routine care. Anyone requiring more acute care would be escorted by a camp staff member to the camp doctor or the hospital for evaluation & treatment. Bridgton has two well stocked pharmacies where we are able to fill all of our usual medical supply and prescription needs.

Our nurses are available to consult with parents by telephone as needed throughout the summer. For minor medical events such as cuts, scrapes, and sore throats we do not routinely notify parents. For more serious things, such as twisted ankles, viral infections or substantial bruises we would make a notification call home.
